What to Do If a Vehicle Has a Lookout Report Linked
- READ the report thoroughly and assess the situation before taking any action.
- Verify and cross-reference the information provided in the report before approaching any suspects.
- If you encounter a stolen vehicle or license plate, DO NOT ATTEMPT TO TAKE ACTION YOURSELF. Contact your nearest law enforcement agency to report the sighting and provide them with the necessary information. Law enforcement will confirm if the vehicle is still wanted and take appropriate action.

NP Tracker
The NP Tracker report compiles a list of lookouts for specific vehicles, based on community inputs posted to monitored groups. This report is a valuable tool for identifying trends related to particular registration numbers.
For example, if a vehicle is involved in a break-in in Kempton Park and a lookout is posted in a patroller group, and the same vehicle is spotted and tested by a member in Centurion three weeks later, they will receive the original lookout, providing context on the vehicle's history.
If no records or lookouts exist for a vehicle, the system will respond with "Numberplate NOT found." Users are encouraged to register a lookout with as much information as possible to assist others if the vehicle is tested by someone else.
NPS-VCR
The NPS-VCR report offers detailed information about a vehicle, including its make, model, partial Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), and engine numbers. This data is sourced from both license disk scanners and external databases. The NPS-VCR report is a critical tool for verifying vehicle information and identifying any inconsistencies that may exist.
If an NPS-VCR report is not available for a particular vehicle, it means that our system currently lacks data on that vehicle. In such cases, scanning the vehicle's license disk with our scanner will automatically add the relevant details to our database, ensuring that the vehicle's information is updated and available for future reference.
Should users notice any discrepancies or inaccuracies in the information provided by an NPS-VCR report, they are encouraged to report these issues. Discrepancies are handled through a thorough manual investigation process, where our team works diligently to verify and correct any errors. This process helps maintain the accuracy and reliability of the data provided by NP Tracker.
To review and report any discrepancies, please visit /review. Our team is committed to ensuring that all data in the NPS-VCR reports is as accurate and up-to-date as possible, and your input is invaluable in helping us achieve this goal.
Note: In the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal provinces, vehicle number plates are reused, which may result in incorrect vehicle details scanning a vehicle with one of our scanners will resolve this issue.
NPS-LAW
The NPS-LAW report displays the status of a tested vehicle from the national law enforcement database, indicating whether the vehicle has been involved in any crimes. This report is accessible only to vetted users. To gain access, visit /auth on the @NPTrackerBOT or @NPS_BOT platforms. Users can send a photo of the vehicle's number plate or license disk to the BOT for testing.
