Company history

Number Plate Systems (Pty) Ltd is an innovative social media company focused on providing crime-fighting and prevention toolsets at the community level. Established on 1 June 2014, the project began with the launch of the first BOT for NP Tracker. The company was later registered and has since operated as Number Plate Systems (Pty) Ltd, although the name NP Tracker has remained synonymous with our services.

Our journey began with the primary goal of protecting and sharing vehicle lookout data among users. Over time, we expanded our services to include the development of mobile applications that facilitate vehicle identification and visitor management.

As pioneers in our field, we established the first national network that encompasses popular platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Whatsapp, WeChat, Signal, and Telegram. Through these platforms, users can interact with our apps and bots to access vehicle lookout reports from our NP Tracker suspect and suspicious vehicle database. Our motto, "We are no superheroes – BUT they use us to be." drives our commitment to providing a nationwide publicly accessible dataset of suspect and vehicle of interest information.
