NP Tracker Project Wiki Pages
The NP Tracker project, provided and maintained by Number Plate Systems (NPS), is a South African technology project focused on making vehicle-related lookout information easier to retrieve and use within community safety and security environments.
NP Tracker processes vehicle-related information from public-domain sources and participating channels, identifies relevant registration numbers, and makes matching lookout information available through supported bots, applications and integrations.
The project forms part of a broader NPS ecosystem that includes vehicle intelligence, cloud-based ANPR/LPR monitoring, security intelligence and OSINT analysis, visitor management, patrol operations, evidence capture, communications and specialised community-safety projects.
The purpose of these wiki pages is to help users understand the NP Tracker projects, learn how the available platforms operate, and understand how the different systems can be used within appropriate community, security and operational workflows.
Important: Information returned through NP Tracker may originate from community-generated lookout reports and should be treated as intelligence rather than proof of criminal activity. Users remain responsible for evaluating the information and following the appropriate legal, security and operational procedures.
NP Tracker Ecosystem
The NPS ecosystem consists of a number of independent but related projects. Some systems provide vehicle intelligence, ANPR/LPR monitoring or broader security intelligence, while others address visitor management, patrol operations, evidence collection, communications or specialised reporting requirements.
Core Platforms
NP Tracker
NP Tracker is a vehicle lookout and lookup system intended to make vehicle-related community intelligence easier to retrieve.
Vehicle registration numbers appearing in supported reports and participating information sources can be processed and associated with relevant lookout information. Users can then search for a known registration number through supported interfaces such as bots, applications or integrations.
A simplified NP Tracker workflow is:
NP Tracker does not replace official law-enforcement databases, legal processes or independent verification.
NPS-CLOUD
NPS-CLOUD provides browser-based tools for managing supported vehicle and operational information.
Published NPS-CLOUD functionality includes:
- Browser-based access for authorised users
- Vehicle activity and monitoring workflows
- Private registration hotlists
- Scanner and vehicle records
- Alerts and reports
- NP Tracker integration within supported vehicle workflows
- ANPR/LPR-related management functions
NPS-CLOUD can therefore act as a management layer for organisations using vehicle-monitoring and related NPS services.
ANPR-Cloud
ANPR-Cloud is a cloud-based Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) / Licence Plate Recognition (LPR) platform for receiving and managing vehicle detections from supported cameras.
Official website: ANPRCloud.co.za
ANPR-Cloud receives plate-detection information from connected LPR/ANPR cameras and provides a central cloud environment in which authorised users can monitor detections, search historical activity and manage vehicles of interest.
Published ANPR-Cloud functionality includes:
- Real-time vehicle detection feeds
- Integration with supported LPR/ANPR cameras
- Centralised monitoring across one or multiple locations
- Vehicle registration searches
- Historical detection searches
- Hotlist and watchlist management
- Alerts for flagged vehicle registrations
- Vehicle movement and repeat-sighting analysis
- Camera and site mapping
- Plate and vehicle image storage
- Detection timestamps and associated metadata
- Confidence information for supported detection records
- Filtering by registration, site, camera or time period
- NP Tracker lookups within supported service plans
ANPR-Cloud is designed for environments such as security operations, estates, campuses, commercial sites and other operations that need centralised monitoring of vehicle detections.
A simplified ANPR-Cloud workflow is:
ANPR-Cloud can provide the technical vehicle-detection record, while NP Tracker may provide additional lookout context where the relevant lookup functionality is configured and available.
Neither an ANPR detection nor an NP Tracker result should automatically be treated as proof of criminal conduct. The information must be assessed within its operational context.
ANPR-Cloud resources:
secureMIND
secureMIND is an NPS security-intelligence platform that brings together tools for open-source intelligence (OSINT), analyst investigations and operational performance reporting.
Official website: secureMIND.co.za
secureMIND is intended to help authorised security, risk and investigation teams turn information from monitored sources into structured intelligence. It supports the collection and analysis of relevant digital information so analysts can identify threats, suspicious activity, developing incidents, recurring patterns and wider trends.
The secureMIND product family includes:
- NPS-OSINT — intelligence ingestion, monitoring and correlation
- NPS-ANALYST — investigation, analysis and incident-mapping workflows
- NPS-KPI — operational dashboards, performance indicators and response metrics
Published secureMIND and related NPS intelligence capabilities include:
- Open-source and social-media intelligence monitoring
- Keyword and campaign monitoring
- Social listening
- Detection of relevant patterns and indicators
- Threat and risk assessment support
- Sentiment and trend analysis
- Intelligence correlation across supported sources
- Analyst investigation dashboards
- Incident mapping and operational awareness
- KPI tracking and management reporting
secureMIND may receive structured intelligence from related monitoring tools such as StreetTalker. This can allow organisations to move from source monitoring and automated detection to analyst review, correlation, investigation and operational reporting.
A simplified secureMIND workflow is:
secureMIND supports human analysis and decision-making; automated monitoring or a detected indicator does not by itself establish wrongdoing. Information should be assessed in context, access should be restricted to authorised users, and data should be handled according to applicable law and organisational policy.
secureMIND resources:
StreetTalker
StreetTalker is an NPS communication-monitoring and intelligence-support platform designed to help authorised security teams, control rooms and analysts monitor supported communication channels and social-platform activity for relevant operational signals.
Official website: StreetTalker.co.za
StreetTalker can collect and structure activity from configured sources so that important information is easier to identify, review and route into an authorised operational workflow. Instead of requiring operators to manually watch every conversation, the platform can apply configured detection rules to highlight information that may require assessment.
Published StreetTalker capabilities include:
- Monitoring supported communication channels and social-platform feeds
- Keyword and campaign monitoring
- Detection of threat-related discussions and suspicious-activity indicators
- Identification of developing incident reports
- Detection of coordinated or recurring message patterns
- Alerting when configured keywords or patterns are identified
- NP Tracker vehicle-registration detection within supported messages
- Structuring relevant source activity for analyst review
- Integration with the wider secureMIND intelligence ecosystem where configured
StreetTalker can operate as a focused monitoring platform or provide structured intelligence to secureMIND components such as:
- NPS-OSINT — large-scale intelligence ingestion and correlation
- NPS-ANALYST — investigation dashboards, incident analysis and mapping
- NPS-KPI — executive dashboards and operational performance metrics
Typical StreetTalker users and environments include:
- Security control rooms
- Intelligence-analysis teams
- Corporate risk and investigation units
- Community-safety organisations
- Incident-monitoring networks
A simplified StreetTalker workflow is:
StreetTalker detections and alerts are intelligence indicators requiring human assessment. A keyword match, message pattern or detected registration does not by itself establish criminal conduct, confirm the accuracy of a report or determine the correct operational response.
StreetTalker should be configured only for authorised sources and legitimate operational purposes, with appropriate access controls, privacy safeguards, retention rules and organisational oversight.
StreetTalker resources:
AdmitIT
AdmitIT is the NPS visitor-management and entrance-control platform.

- Structured storage and later access
- Sharing with contacts
- Telegram forwarding to configured groups or users
Published example use cases include security and patrol activities, construction and projects, insurance and claims, inspections and audits, agriculture and farming, logistics and deliveries, and field operations.
ProveIT is intended to improve the context and traceability surrounding captured images. The existence of a ProveIT record does not by itself determine the legal significance of the underlying event.
ProveIT resources:
PatrolIT
PatrolIT is an NPS patrol-management, tracking and communications platform.

Understanding NP Tracker Bots
A bot is a software application that automates interactions between a user and a service.
Within the NP Tracker environment, lookup bots allow users to submit supported information — commonly a vehicle registration number — and receive relevant information from the NP Tracker system without needing to manually navigate a separate database interface.
The exact commands and features available depend on the specific bot or service.
Community and Group Bots
Some NPS bots have also been developed for use in participating groups or communities. Depending on the bot, these tools may assist with detecting supported vehicle registration formats, submitting lookout information, performing lookups, managing group workflows, delivering alerts or providing specialised commands.
Vehicle Detection and Intelligence Flow
ANPR-Cloud and NP Tracker address different parts of a vehicle-information workflow. ANPR-Cloud primarily deals with observed vehicle detections from connected cameras, while NP Tracker provides lookout information associated with vehicle registrations.
Information Flow
At a high level, NP Tracker is intended to turn scattered vehicle-related lookout information into information that can be retrieved when a user needs to check a particular registration.
Responsible Use
Users should remember that intelligence and monitoring systems support human decision-making; they do not replace it.
When working with NP Tracker, ANPR-Cloud, StreetTalker, secureMIND or related systems:
- Treat community lookout and monitored-source information as information requiring assessment.
- Consider the date, source, location and context of a report or detected indicator.
- Distinguish between a camera detection, a community-generated lookout and an analytical indicator.
- Do not assume that a vehicle detection, lookout, keyword match, correlation or trend establishes criminal conduct.
- Treat StreetTalker alerts, keyword matches and message patterns as indicators requiring human review rather than verified conclusions.
- Monitor only sources that the organisation is authorised to access and process.
- Do not confront individuals solely because a registration produces a lookup or hotlist result.
- Follow applicable organisational procedures.
- Contact the appropriate security service or authorities where circumstances require it.
- Handle personal and operational information responsibly.
- Use visitor, location, identity, biometric, evidence and intelligence information only through authorised workflows.
- Restrict access to operational systems to appropriately authorised users.
- Follow applicable privacy, data-retention and organisational policies.
